Meeting opened at 7:05 p.m.
Ron Milliman opened the meeting with a discussion of the upcoming November 2003 KCB Convention
which will be held at the KY School for the Blind. This will be held in November on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. Ron will get details.
The minutes from the September 4, 2003 meeting were read by Palma Milliman. Ron Milliman
accepted a motion to accept the minutes as read and the motion was unanimously accepted.
OLD BUSINESS
A letter thanking Mancino's and Pizza Hut for the food supplied at the first meeting on
September 04, 2003 will be sent, subject to Max Robinson designing and printing out
some letterheads for our newly formed SCKCB chapter of the KCB.
NEW BUSINESS
Palma Milliman read the proposed constitution for our new South Central KY Council Of The Blind
chapter. The floor was opened for discussion and comments while the articles of
the constitution were read. Ron Milliman accepted a motion to accept the proposed
constitution and the constitution was unanimously accepted at 7:35.
The frequency and times of future meetings of the Bowling Green Chapter were discussed.
It was decided that the Thursday before the convention would be the date of our next meeting.
Kim Parsley asked that everyone be thinking about important issues that the group will need
to discuss and hopefully tackle at our next meeting.
Issues SUGGESTED were: How to recruit new members, fund raising possibilities as well
as raising public awareness locally by lecturing and making presentations at schools
and other organizations.
Ron Milliman suggested that we become involved with the Lions Club as it would not only
be a great contact but would be beneficial in strengthening both organizations.
We will pick the date for the Christmas party at our next meeting in November.
The October 09, 2003 meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted by Lori Piorkowski
