Minutes of KCB Meeting November 6, 2003

The meeting was called to order by president, Ron Milliman at approximately 7:30 pm. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Palma Milliman, since secretary, Lori Perokowski, was unable to attend. The minutes were accepted as read. We had one new member, Bobby West, attend the meeting and join the SCKCB.

Ron Milliman spoke briefly about the up-coming state convention, and wanted to know who was planning to attend. Max Robinson said he was, but everyone else was committed to other activities.

President Milliman indicated that the SCKCB chapter was entitled to have one person serve as our chapter's representative to the KCB Board, according to the KCB's constitution, and suggested that Max Robinson be appointed as our representative in that capacity. The group unanimously agreed. President Milliman also said that he thought there was a possibility that he would be nominated and elected to serve on the KCB board as one of its directors, and if that were to happen, then, our SCKCB chapter would end up with two persons on the KCB State board.

After a short discussion about the Christmas party, it was decided that the date would be Dec. 13, and the best time to start would be 2:00 pm. The party would be held in the Café Room of the Library if it could be reserved.

The subject of fund raising was brought up, and Darlene Winkenhofer was asked to chair the Fund Raising Committee by President, Ron Milliman. Anyone interested in being on the committee needs to let Darlene know.

It was also decided to form a membership committee, and Lisa Newton volunteered to chair this committee.

The local Lions Clubs were brought up in conjunction with public relations. It was agreed that our organization should become better acquainted with the local Lions Club, and that perhaps we could get one of their members to be a member of our SCKCB organization and serve as a liaison between the two organizations.

A "PSA" demo by Willard Scott was played for all the membership to listen to. It was decided that Lisa Newton and Max Robinson would take care of developing our own "psa" with a combination of the PSA done by Willard Scott and Lisa Newton's voice dubbing the SCKCB info on the end or perhaps, a completely new PSA created by Lisa Newton and produced by Max Robinson.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:27 pm.

Respectfully submitted, Palma Milliman
