SCKCB Minutes of September 22, 2004

The meeting was called to order at approximately 7:05 pm at the Bowling Green Public Library. Members present were: Ron and Palma Milliman, Max and Sue Robinson, Darlene Winkenhofer, and Lauri Piorkowski.

The reading of the minutes from the previous meeting was dispensed by a unanimous vote of the members present.

President Milliman gave Max Robinson our one and only copy of the Alive Center interview video, so that he could make a duplicate to send to a PBS in Glasgow for airing. He also informed us that the interview he taped with Dan Modlen of WKYU Radio would be aired on White Cane Day, October 15. That same day, Ron will also be on WBKO TV with Whitney Ray of Miday Live. On October 20 there will be a showing of the movie "At First Sight", on WKUs campus, and Ron and Palma will also be there for a discussion after the film as a part of the Disabilities Month activities planned for WKU’s campus.

Ron advised us that he had received some calls resulting from our PSA, so they are working. We will be launching some new PSA soon.

Fundraising was discussed briefly. Steve and Amy Ellis, of Ellis Place in Bowling Green seem to be willing to help with some fundraising. Thus far, a band fundraiser and a Country Club golf game have been mentioned.

President Milliman reminded everyone that the state convention will be in Louisville on November 12 - 14, and everyone attending will be able to stay at the Kentucky State School for the Blind for a very nominal fee

Membership dues of $8.00 per person were collected. A total of $48.00 were collected at this meeting. This included one check, which was mailed to us by David Welch in Glasgow.

The scheduling of future meeting days and frequency was put on hold

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
